Cold outreach to US and UK buyers from India: timing, messaging, follow-up.

How B2B founders in India win clients in the United States and the United Kingdom on LinkedIn: sending in the buyer's morning, positioning that travels, follow-up across time zones, and proof that lands abroad.

In short

  • Send in the buyer's morning. India is 9.5 to 10.5 hours ahead of New York and 4.5 to 5.5 ahead of London, so US outreach is a late-evening job.
  • Lead with proof a US or UK buyer recognises: outcomes, named industries, payments and testimonials from their market.
  • Position on the problem and the outcome, not on cost. Cheap is not why they will reply.
  • Book calls in their working hours, confirm in their time zone, and never make them do the arithmetic.

Work on the buyer's clock

India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 all year. London is UTC+0 in winter and UTC+1 in summer. New York is UTC−5 in winter and UTC−4 in summer. So India runs four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of London, and nine and a half to ten and a half hours ahead of New York.

A message sent at 10 a.m. in Delhi arrives at half past midnight in New York and at half past five in the morning in London. It is buried before the buyer opens LinkedIn. The fix is simple and uncomfortable: send in their morning. For the UK, that is early to mid afternoon in India. For the US East Coast, it is seven to nine in the evening in India; for the West Coast, ten at night to midnight.

“They ran outreach late at night when the US audience is active, something I could never do myself. If your audience is overseas, LeadFoundry can help you reach them.”

The time zone is not an excuse. It is a schedule.

Positioning that travels

A buyer in Manchester or Austin reading a message from a founder in Pune is making one judgement: is this person credible for my market? Three things answer it.

  • Named outcomes for companies like theirs. “We cut reporting time by 80 percent for a UK logistics firm” travels. “We offer end-to-end digital transformation” does not.
  • Proof in their currency. Testimonials from clients in their market, and if you have them, receipts. We publish client payments in pounds on our site for exactly this reason.
  • A clear, specific offer. One line on who you help and what changes for them. Retainers, not one-off projects, if that is what you sell.

Do not lead with cost. Lower rates are a reason to keep reading, not a reason to reply. Lead with the problem and the result, and let price come up on the call.

Messaging: the same rules, a few differences

Everything in the outreach methods guide applies: one line that proves you looked, one on the problem, one low-friction ask. Across borders, add:

  • Plain, direct English with short sentences. No “I hope this message finds you well”. No “esteemed”.
  • Reference their market, not yours. A hiring post, a funding round, an expansion into a new city.
  • UK buyers tend to prefer understated and specific. US buyers tend to reward direct and confident. Neither rewards long.
  • Never mention that you are writing from abroad as an apology. If it comes up, it is an advantage: you can run work while their team sleeps.

Follow-up across time zones

A buyer who replies at 3 p.m. in Chicago has replied at half past one in the morning in India. If the next message goes out at 10 a.m. India time, they have waited nineteen hours. Interest does not survive that. Decide who watches the inbox during the buyer's afternoon and give them the authority to answer.

When you book, offer two times in their time zone, written in their time zone, and send the invite yourself so both calendars agree. Confirm the day before, in their morning.

What the results look like

On one client campaign, with a hand-verified list, messages written to each person and sent in their morning, we held a 21.5 percent reply rate against the 5 to 8 percent usually quoted for cold LinkedIn outreach. Client payments from the UK, in pounds, are published on our pre-call briefing, unedited.

Getting started

If your buyers are in the US or UK and you are running outreach from India, start by moving your sending window into their morning for two weeks. Then rebuild the list by hand and rewrite the opener to reference something real about each person. If you would rather have it run for you, from your profile, on your buyer's clock, that is what LeadFoundry does. See how it works or book the strategy call.

Book a call

No pitch. Straight talk.

Questions.

Do US and UK buyers hire agencies and consultancies from India?

Yes, routinely, and our own clients' payments in pounds are on the site as evidence. What they will not do is reply to a generic pitch. The bar is the same as for a local vendor: relevance, proof and a clear offer.

What time should I send LinkedIn messages to US buyers from India?

Their morning. For the East Coast, seven to nine in the evening in India. For the West Coast, ten at night to midnight. Tuesday to Thursday tends to work better than Mondays and Fridays.

Should I mention my Indian pricing advantage?

Not in the opener. Lead with the problem and the outcome. Cost comes up naturally on the call, where you can frame it as value rather than as a discount.
